FAQs

Who do you work with?

I work with many adults who have experienced childhood trauma (or complex trauma), including parental neglect or abuse. That said, you do not have to have experienced trauma to work with me.

Many of my clients struggle with anxiety or the effects of stressful life challenges and are looking for ways to experience life with more calm and ease. Most have been to therapy before and feel like they have “talked it out,” yet still find themselves struggling internally. They may understand what happened and why they feel the way they do but continue to feel stuck in the same emotional patterns.

I can work with adults residing in New Jersey, North Carolina or New Hampshire.

How does virtual therapy work?

We meet in through a HIPAA compliant platform for confidentiality. The platform is user friendly but I’m here to help you along the way. All of our sessions are on camera, and it is important that you are in a safe and private location for every session. You must be located in the state you reside when we meet.

There may be times we might engage in movement during a session either seated, standing or even on the floor if it is comfortable for you.

What is EFT? How will it help?

EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques, also known as tapping. It is a gentle yet powerful method that involves tapping on specific pressure points on the face and upper body. The firm but gentle tapping stimulates meridians (energy channels) to release "blocked energy" and restore balance within the body’s energy system. Many people store unresolved emotions in their bodies, and tapping on these meridians can help release those emotions and reprogram the subconscious mind.

When I work with clients, we may use tapping to begin and/or end a session. EFT is a simple and effective technique for reducing stress and calming the nervous system. Many clients find that tapping helps to feel more relaxed and grounded. As an Advanced Accredited, Certified Practitioner, I help clients safely explore deeper emotional layers that may be difficult to address alone.

EFT has been shown to help with issues such as cravings, phobias, relationship challenges, sleep disturbances, and past trauma.

What is IFS? Why use it?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a therapy approach that helps you understand the various “parts” of yourself that show up in different situations. You may have a part that feels anxious, a part that wants to keep you safe, or a part that tends to be hard on yourself.

When using IFS in sessions, we focus on becoming curious about your parts instead of judging or fighting them. Through understanding and self-compassion, we work toward you feeling more balanced, grounded, and connected to your true inner self.

Do you take insurance? What are your fees?

I do not take insurance, but I can provide you a Superbill each month for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. It is up to you to call your insurance to find out if you have out-of-network benefits and what they cover.

My rate is $160. per session. Sessions are 50-55 minutes.

Are you LGBTQIA+ friendly?

Absolutely. All are welcomed in my practice. This is a safe space to come as you are.

How do we get started?

Let’s connect and have a consultation call. During this complimentary 15-20 minute call, we’ll talk about your reasons for coming to therapy and what you hope to gain in our work together. I’ll share my approach in helping clients and answer any questions for you.

This is simply a chance for us to connect to see if we’re the right fit in working together. You don’t have to make a decision right away. There’s no pressure.
